Morse’s illustrated book is a lively remembrance of the railroad’s rise and decline. It was originally written for, and run serially in, the Brattleboro Daily Reformer in 1938, only two years after the West Railroad shut down. This popular paperback is illustrated by many period photographs of the West River Railroad.

The Chronology of the West River Railroad by James Mellish

Out of print for years, the Historical Security has reprinted this important resource by permission of the author and it is now available here in softcover. This 544 page comprehensive history of the West River Railroad is illustrated with many historic photographs.
